2024 CA Diversity Awards - Kaiser Permanente

Our Equity in:

We are building a healthier, more equitable future for every life we touch. This work begins with the people of KP and extends to the patients we care for and the communities we serve. Equity is at the heart of our mission, and we will pursue this vision until everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthy life.

We are a multiracial, multicultural organization with people of diverse backgrounds and identities serving diverse communities. We know that having a diverse and inclusive workforce makes Kaiser Permanente a better place to receive health care, a more supportive partner in the communities we serve, and a more fulfilling place to work.

Health Equity:

We have a deep and abiding commitment to delivering health care equitably and eliminating health disparities. Equitable care does not simply mean making the same services available to all, but rather that we are tailoring and personalizing the care members need to achieve equitable health outcomes.

Workforce Equity:

Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity is reflected across our organization, including in our senior management and board of directors. In 2023, 44% of the CEO’s direct reports were women, and Kaiser Permanente’s boards were 36% women and 43% people of color.

Our organization continues to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve, with representation across all categories of race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, veteran status, and religion working together for a shared mission. In 2023, 69% of our employees were members of racial, ethnic, and cultural minorities and 74% were women (data includes Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals staff only).
